Payne Education Center, an Oklahoma City-based nonprofit teacher training and dyslexia advocacy center, is being awarded a $25,000 grant from the Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma to digitize its teacher training curricula in order to increase resources and usage of its reading instruction programs for teachers. This grant allows Payne Education Center to increase its impact on teachers who receive training as well provide resources better suited to the 21st Century teacher and learner.
“For more than 30 years, the Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma has supported Payne Education Center and we treasure this partnership that allows us to extend our reach to give teachers the necessary tools to successfully teach children how to read,” said Heather Johnson, Executive Director of Payne Education Center. “Thanks to their continued generosity, Payne will now be able to provide better access to online resources and interactive curricula for teachers and their students.”
Payne’s scientifically based teaching methods can help children overcome their reading difficulties and improve the lives of the 15-20% of the population who has the language-based learning disability of dyslexia which affects their ability to successfully develop strong reading skills.
