It emphasizes the value and power of utilizing a student’s background knowledge to form connections that allow a lasting understanding of what is read.
Learning reading comprehension strategies is made fun and memorable through music, art, drama, objects, and activities. The six strategies addressed during this course are: making connections, predicting, asking questions, clarifying, visualizing, and summarizing. Fluency tips and a copy of Six-Way Paragraphs are included with the course. This one day training and curriculum is $275.
